Q: Actually I planned to do my first cosplay as either Kagamine Rin/Len (Vocaloid),however my club senpai told me that I should choose something more uncommon..So, I'm not really sure what to do..what if they don't know what am I cosplaying as..?

A: Somehow I agreed with your club senpai. I see a lot of Vocaloid cosplayers lately. A lot of them look similar to that Vocaloid, but not exactly. I think that the problem is that the wig styling for any Vocaloid character is difficult, not only for a newbie. For me, some hairstyle is very hard to find the wig or style it. I.e. the spiky hairstyle, short hairstyle with no bangs (like Zoro from One Piece or Germany from APH), buns, ponytail and twin tails.
Maybe you should think about any other well-known series. I have no idea on how to choose the character, because I choose them based on my liking. For me, cosplay is a hobby. You're doing what you want to for yourself, not for others. So I don't really care much about people don't know who I'm cosplaying as ^^; (I did Kuribayashi Haru from Switch manga by Naked Ape recently and no one seems to know this manga lol)
No offense !!

Q: Would you mind sharing some of your cosplaying tips??

A: No! Not at all :D It's only troublesome that there's a lot of tips I want to share lol. My basic cosplay tips are ...
1. Take good care of your skin - but I'm not very good at this either lol
2. Choose the character you like. Sometimes I also choose the one with similar personality. I.e. I'm a cheerful and bouncy person, so I choose Gakuto from The Prince of Tennis, which is also my favorite character.
3. Look closely at the character's costume. I bet you don't want to miss any details.
4. If you're a newbie or never sew before, and you're going to make the dress by yourself, DON'T choose the character with complicated costume.
5. Money is also essential. You have to save up for it. I'm lucky that Thailand has a lot of cheap tailors. FYI. wigs are expensive as well.
6. Wig styling is very important. Sometimes you need to know how to cut/trim the wig. You can also use your real hair, but I rarely use mine. I think wig is a lot more easier to control.
7. When you cosplay, put on makeup. I'll write about how to put on makeup later. C:
8. When taking photo, be the character. Try imagine that you're starring as that character.
9. If you are short/far-sighted, wear contact lenses. BUT talk to your doctor first.

Q: If you're cosplaying as some character with a very distinctive hair colour (like blue, or silver) do you use wig or do you colour your hair?

A: I use wigs. I coloured my hair only once. It was more expensive then buying a wig (in Thailand).

Q: Do cosplayers must follow the same eye colour with the character? urm, I meant, some colours are fine, like green, blue or brown, what about like golden eyes etc? do people still wear contact lens with a colour similar to it or totally ignored it?

A: I wear contact lenses every time, because I'm very shortsighted. If that particular color is too hard to find, I'll go with the similar colour. I.e. go for light brown if you can't find gold. But it doesn't really matter if you really can't find them or cannot afford them. FYI. I wore purple contact lenses when I cosplayed Roy Mustang, because I don't have the black or grey ones. And one of my friends rarely wear ones.

Q: Then, what do you guys usually do? I heard you've to say a phrase or few lines in front of public (uh, i have a light phobia of standing in front of publics ^^; )

A: I don't really get the question. But if you mean for the contest or interview, think of something short but sounds smart. Be confident, or at least, look confident. Try not to stammer. I never enter any cosplay contest, but have been interviewed 5-6 times. These are what I keep in mind. C:

I have no idea what I should write now lol. Please ask about anything you want to know :D
